Law, education, propaganda, and economic regulation allowed governments to shape the behavior of their citizens, ideally in the interest of the public good. This is no longer the case.
Information technologies now run interference between citizens and their governments, creating a situation where “behavioral entrainment” to the social network is stronger than the ideals and laws of the nation. As recent years have made clear, the dynamics of voter behavior, political protests, and public health campaigns have been profoundly impacted by social media. Social Media Enables Undue Influence
I wasn't aware of the term Resilience—thank you for introducing it to me! Ancient Greeks called this 'philosophy,' which translates as the love of wisdom. They felt that all sciences, including literature (drama, poetry), music (harmony), mathematics, astronomy, and biology, consisted of science, and of course politics (democracy). Everything is connected and part of a whole as the alchemists thought as well - it's funny that only in recent years capitalism has forced us to think that we can stand on our own or that we exist in a vacuum...
